STUDIO UPDATE

The students of The Karuna Yoga Studio have donated $635 to SHAMA, a non-profit organization benefiting women and children in South Asia. Begun in 2002 by Jyoti and Jagdish Chander of Stevens Point, the charity has several programs in both rural and urban India. The donated funds will train a woman in New Delhi to become a taxi driver and provide Leadership Training for a woman in the SHAMA Smart Well program. This program enables poor women to become self-sufficient through job training and small-scale self-employment. Funds will also go the SHAMA Kids and Slum Kids programs that provide open-air multi-age traveling classrooms to unsettled labor shanty areas for slum children.

Chris is teaching a daytime beginner plus class Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 1:15 beginning the 19th of January. There will be 10 classes and the cost will be $100.

John is teaching a Monday night beginner class starting January 18th consisting of 8 90 minute classes running through March 15(no class 2/8). the cost is $96.

Please be aware of the following policies to keep the building in tiptop shape.
No street shoes in the yoga room. Please remove shoes in the coat room.
If you need to wear shoes to do yoga, bring a pair that have not walked on gravel or have soiled soles.
Only water is allowed in the yoga room in a closed bottle. No flame candles are allowed in the building.
Thank you.

DIRECTIONS:
Come to the intersection of McMillan and Lincoln just south of Hwy 13 and the viaduct. Turn West on McMillan and go down to the 5th house on your left, fire number 9977. You will see KARUNA YOGA letters on the mailbox. Turn left. Please note that our driveway is a single lane without a shoulder. Those on McMillan are asked to yield to any cars that are coming north out of the driveway. When the driveway is clear, pull in and turn left into the lot just behind the studio building. Please park on the East and West sides of the lot first, then the south. You may park against the building only if necessary. DO NOT park in the middle of the parking lot.

Cars exiting the lot are asked to yield to any cars entering and coming South on the driveway.

Registration:
Please register as soon as you can. It is a huge help to me, the registrar, if you are able to send your completed registration along with your check by mail to 9977 W McMillan St,Marshfield before coming to the first class. Beginning students need to include a completed registration form. At this time there are still openings in all classes, however I anticipate that they will fill. Continuing students have priority over new students if they register for their class with payment by 8/26. After that date, registrations are accepted in the order they are received by me. If you need to make financial arrangements please contact me at 387-6105. You will be contacted only if the class you request is already full.

My sleep quality definitely improved as did my posture. I'm more aware of tension and better at relaxing it out most of the time.
